Bangkok
What is the sound of one hand clapping? This Buddhist koan challenges logical thinking and encourages moments of insight. It stayed with me during my short visit to Bangkok. Clapping needs two hands, showing the connection between them.
In the same way, photography needs a connection between the subject and the photographer. When traveling, the photographer is inspired by new places, cultures, and people, but their presence also changes what they capture.
You can't truly know a city as big and diverse as Bangkok in less than two weeks. Realizing this helps reduce the fear of missing out. It's better to see fewer things but understand them well.
The photos here show the relationship between Bangkok—its people, buildings, and light—and me, the photographer. I hope you enjoy them.
